LIAS Travel Funding Application

Travel Funding for conference trips and fieldwork is available under the following conditions:

You present a paper with the goal to publish it;
You conduct fieldwork with the goal to present the results in a publication;
Applications from early- to mid-career faculty members (max. 10 years after obtaining your PhD degree) have priority over those of senior faculty members;
The maximum amount you can apply for is 1500 euros;
You can apply once every 2 calendar years (transitional arrangement for 2024: faculty members who did not apply for funding in 2023 have priority over those who did)

You cannot submit an application for Travel Funding when:

You have personal funds at your disposal through the Bestemmingsfonds (BSF). Only when the total costs (max. 1500 euros) of your conference/fieldwork travel exceed the funds in your BSF, you can submit an application to cover the difference;
You have research project funds at your disposal (through NWO, ERC, or other funding bodies).
