Reimagining Networks, Pride and Allyship 
With a panel, group discussions and snacks 

Purple Friday is an opportunity for everyone to show their allyship towards our queer colleagues and students, but it can also be a great chance for the LGBTQIA+ communities of the University to get together and share perspectives. 

Therefore, Student organisation Queer Leiden University and representatives from different faculties (with the support of the D&I Expertise Office) invite all students and staff to the 2026 Purple Friday Gathering. 

This year, we focus on how we can make progress on topics that are recurring within our communities. These include the role and support of the employee and student identity networks, the participation of the University in Leiden Pride, and the ways of practicing true and meaningful allyship. 

Make your voice heard in an impactful way, share your ideas and emotions, and join us in the collective attempt to inspire change at Leiden University.

• The location is 7 min by foot (550m) from Leiden Centraal. 

• Wheelchair accessibility:

  • The route to the entrance is paved.

  • The platform is accessible via a ramp with bends of approximately 30 cm, and a disabled lift from the bicycle shed.

  • Revolving doors at the entrance open automatically.

  • There is a button for wheelchair users. 

  • Turnstile from landing opens automatically and is wheelchair accessible. Width: approx. 170 cm.

  • There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the same floor as the event (floor 0) and elevators to get to the floor.

• There will be a quiet room close to the main room if you need to decompress or rest at any point during the night.

• There will always be places to sit down, and the chairs do not have arm support.
