Exemptions
PROCEDURE
  1. Plan the courses of both bachelor's programmes and fill out the form. If you need help, please contact your coordinator of studies (or study advisor). Send the form to honours@hum.leidenuniv.nl.  
  2. Your plan is part of your application and has to be approved by the Humanities Lab Board of Admissions.
    Depending on the amount of unique EC’s (credits that only count once; if, for instance, you have an exemption for your discretionary space in BA 1 based on courses from BA 2, these credits count only once), the Board will decide within how many years you will have to complete both bachelor's programmes and the Honours Class in order to receive the Honours certificate (if you meet all requirements).
  3. Requirements Honours certificate*:
    1. Meet all requirements for bachelor's degrees;
    2. Weighted average grade of at least 7.0 for all completed bachelor’s courses;
    3. Study progress:  
      • 210-239 EC completed within 3 years
      • 240-269 EC completed within 3.5 years
      • 270-299 EC completed within 4 years
      • 300-329 EC completed within 4.5 years
      • ≥330 EC completed within 5 years
    4. Successfully completed at least one interdisciplinary bachelor’s Honours Class.
