CONDITIONS

The SMGI collection consists of 1190 interviews with 724 interviewees about their experiences during the last period of the Dutch colonial presence in Southeast Asia, notably Indonesia. Due the nature of this collection access to the collection is granted on the conditions stated below.

The undersigned hereby declares that he/she:

1. will not publish or make public in any other way data from the SMGI collection for purposes other than the research project mentioned above.

2. will not publish or make public in any other way data from the SMGI collection in a manner that violates the rights to privacy of interviewees or other persons referred to in this collection.

3. for reasons of these rights will only publish data from the SMGI collection after being granted permission by the director of Leiden University Libraries or his authorized representative, to whom the passages to be published must be submitted.

4. will cite, in any publication, whether printed, electronic or broadcast, based wholly or in part on the SMGI collection, the metadata received with the materials from the SMGI collection or notified: Leiden University Library, [metadata].

5. is aware of his/her own full liability in case of civil or criminal claims as a result of neglectful use of the data taken from the SMGI collection by the undersigned.
